Great post about the Olympics. I'll be curious to see if Bettman uses the Olympics as a bargaining chip during the next round of the NHLPA negotiations or if he's really hell bent on keeping the NHL out of the Olympics.

Keep it up... and be careful how you use the term "writer extraordinaire" :)

You are both so right!!

Not only did we get an AMAZING game, but so did the rest of the world. It couldn't have gone any better for the sport of Hockey.

I know what you mean Jenelyn, Ryan Miller was absolutely fantastic, Brian Burke couldn't have picked any better.

And you are right Lorraine, Jonas Hiller was everything for his team that also performed better than I think many expected...all because of him. How lucky are we as Ducks fans to have that guy?

To have ALL of those guys...returning with shiny hardware to add to their collection! What a tournament!

I am in total agreement. I did watch the MIRACLE game and it was "almost" as wonderful, only because of the amateur status of that team.

I am also equally as proud of Jonas Hiller. Even though he received no medal, his play was so great, I think deserved MVP.

It was as great of a game as I have ever seen in my lifetime, in any sport. So much emotion, so much pride. Ryan Miller has achieved "hockey hero" status for me. Could not be more proud to be an American hockey fan today. Biggest winner was the sport itself.

[...] The Ducks have already experienced life without Getzlaf this season when he suffered a leg laceration against San Jose in late Dec. The Ducks were without his services for four games and went 1-3 during that stretch. Upon his return the Ducks went on to win five straight. Yes, Getzlaf can do that. [...]
